Muhammed Yesilhark is a famous businessman, corporate investor and philanthropist who was born in Germany and currently residing in Dubai to go by his professional commitments. He comes over as the Founder and Chief Investment Officer of Q2Q Capital, a small family office that got its headquarters in Dubai.
Until April 2016, Muhammed was serving as the Head of European Equities at Carmignac, one of Europe’s most recognised asset managers with approx $55bn of AuM. Muhammed was involved as an active partner of the firm and Head of European Equities that was responsible for managing company’s European funds along with the exposure of its global funds worth $8bn to various European markets.
Muhammed Yesilhark originally shifted to Carmignac with his core team of 5 people from SAC Global Investors where he was serving as the Partner and Portfolio Manager. It must be noted that SAC Global Investors appeared as a US-based hedge fund with around $15bn AuM and now been transitioned into a family office named Point72 Asset Management.
Muhammed used to manage the European equities portfolio worth $550m AuM within the same firm. It was mainly during his reign at SAC that Muhammed got rewarded with the “40 under 40” award for being amongst the 40 investment professionals within the European hedge fund industry.
Before joining SAC, Muhammed did move to London from Frankfurt in order to join York Capital Management. Speaking of York capital, it came over as a New York-based event-driven hedge fund with AuM worth $18bn. Muhammed kick started his career there as an Associate and earned a promotion to the Director level right within just 4 years of his term with the firm. He established himself as one of the youngest Directors in the history of the financial services industry in London among all the recognised firms at a mere age of 27. He was managing York’s investments in the German-speaking countries along with the EMEA region.
Muhammed Yesilhark initiated his career as a Business Analyst at Frankfurt office of Lazard in their Mergers & Acquisition domain and got training in various areas like Corporate Finance and Equity Capital Markets.
Muhammed comes from a Turkish origin but was born and brought up in Germany. He finished up his studies in finance and management at European School of Business and earned his graduation with a first-class honours’ degree both from Reutlingen University of Applied Science in Germany and Lancaster University in the United Kingdom.
Muhammed takes deep interests in sports, travelling, and philanthropy. Muhammed Yesilhark is also contributing his time as an active trustee of National Zakat Foundation (NZF), the UK’s ground-breaking initiative that focuses towards utilising all the collected Zakat funds and voluntary donations in the United Kingdom in the larger interest of the underprivileged people across the globe. Muhammed Yesilhark is quite fluent in English, German, Turkish languages and well versed in Spanish. He is currently married and comes over as a proud father of two kids.
